United States: 46% of population support abolishing ICE than maintaining it

A recent national survey by The Economist and YouGov shows a historic shift in U.S. public opinion, with more citizens supporting the abolition of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) than maintaining it. According to the poll, 46 percent favor abolishing the agency, surpassing the 43 percent who oppose it. Rejection of ICE had already grown due to its repression of migrant populations and intensified after the killing of Renee Nicole Good, a 37‑year‑old citizen shot by ICE agent Jonathan Ross in Minneapolis on January 7. The survey also found that 47 percent of respondents believe ICE makes the country less safe, compared to 34 percent who believe the opposite.

#teleSUREnglish #UnitedStates #ICE #PublicOpinion #Survey
